Qualifications and Experience

Rachel Taylor is an INLPTA accredited Business Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)* Practitioner with 20 years business experience, offering specialist voice tuition, business coaching and training.

Rachel Taylor was employed by Lloyd's of London for nearly 20 years and during the end of that term was trained as a Business Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner. She then went on to use her skills in the business environment to enhance her colleague's performance.

As well as addressing personal challenges, the training course reignited a flame that she had not had since she'd studied psychology in college. 'It set me on the path which I am still on today, that is at its core, a desire to understand others; a real interest in what makes people tick. Not just for curiosity's sake, but out of a desire to understand others, to pass something on and make a genuine difference.'

Whilst still employed, she worked with colleagues to deepen her knowledge. But once redundancy came along she started up in business during 2007. Beginning with one-to-one coaching, her desire to reach more people drove her to cater for groups of people. 'I found I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much that I have booked an entire year's worth of self development workshops in an effort to reach and help as many people as possible.'

The Study of Voice Production

'The voice coaching came about one day while I was still working at Lloyd's. We had to sit through so many presentations that I became very familiar with business presenting. Some were great, others were awful and I mean really awful! I'd been studying singing techniques quite intensively at the time and whilst sitting at the back of this big room listening to a man far off in the distance trying to hear what was being said, my mind wandered and I started to think about the possibility of transferring singing techniques to the spoken word.

'We had a forward-thinking, open-minded boss at the time who kindly allowed me to practice in work time with some colleagues. With my test subjects I found that I could get results within a short space of time - it was really effective and so, one of the cornerstone services of Be Heard was born.

About Be Heard's 2009 Communication, Self Development and Awareness Workshops

'I wanted to make the development programme open to the public this year, because faced with economic gloom, all of us in business need to stay at the top of our game and work as effectively as possible. There has never been a better or more crucial time to invest in ourselves.'
